One of the very best parts of being a children's author is hearing from kids and parents who read my books! I have been hearing lately from lots of kids and their grown-ups about IGGY PECK, ARCHITECT.The other day, I got the following cool pictures from my young friend, Ethan who is an architect, like Iggy!
My favorite was the giant tower he built that reached all the way to the ceiling!

3 things: I live with a 9-yr.old architect. He started with toilet paper rolls(thank you, Sam's Club) and currently favors legos, wood scraps, and cardboard. His favorite medium is paper/plastic cups, though. I can send you phenomenal pictures. This is a great building material for presentations because it's lightweight, cheap, and easy to store. We're actually making a whole album of his creations. Luckily, he is good about letting us take things down after he's enjoyed them for a while as long as we take a picture.
2. Legoland is such an awesome invite! I haven't been to the one in San Diego but we've been to the one in Denmark, where they were invented.
3. I just got the news that Pascal Lemaitre will be illustrating one of my upcoming books. Yay!

Legoland absolutely ROCKS!!! I would love to go to the one in Denmark, too! I bet you had a blast there. I think the sculptures are the most amazing part. It's pure joy to see them.

Yesterday, I spent some time in a 2nd grade creating buildings and other things with marshmallows and spaghetti. It was a blast. Next time, I think I'll include different kinds of pasta and let the marshmallows dry out a bit so they are a little firmer.
